What type of cover does 123.ie offer?
Our Comprehensive and Comprehensive Lite policies cover protects you for claims made for accidental damage to your own car as well as claims by Third Parties, including passengers for personal injuries or damage to property. You are also protected in the event of damage to or loss of your car by fire, theft or attempted theft. For the additional benefits for these policies please see below:

What type of vehicles does 123.ie cover?
The 123.ie policy is for private motor vehicles up to a maximum of 7 seats for private use.
- Some makes and models are excluded
- Some categories are also excluded
The following list (this list is not exhaustive) is an example of categories excluded.
- Taxi
- Motorcycle

Is open driving cover available?
No, 123.ie does not provide open driving cover.

A Provisional licence?
Yes, provided you have a minimum 1 year No Claim Bonus or 1 year Named Driving Experience earned in your name within the last 2 years. -
An international driving licence?
Clients must currently hold a current Provisional Irish Licence, a Full Irish/UK Licence or EC Driving Licence only. -
No driving experience or Named Driving Experience?
Yes, but you must be at least 30 years of age. -
Penalty points?
Yes, provided you have no more than 4 Penalty Points on your current driving licence. -
Convictions?
No, you must not have been convicted of any offences of any nature and have no convictions pending.

How can I pay for the premium?
- By credit card or laser card at no extra charge.
- By cheque, bank draft or postal order made payable to 123.ie at no extra charge (please ensure to write your name and reference number at the back).
- By direct debit over 10 months (at an extra cost - details provided at time of quote).

How do I get my disc?
In order for 123.ie to issue your annual insurance certificate and disc, we must be in receipt of, where applicable, proof of No Claims Bonus or Named Driver Experience and original copy of signed loan agreement. This documentation must be supplied within 10 days of inception date.

What is the excess on my insurance policy?
This is the amount that the policyholder must pay towards a claim. The excess applicable to your policy is stated on your Insurance Schedule.

Is Breakdown Assistance included in my 123.ie Policy?
Both our Comprehensive and Third Party Fire and Theft policies include 24 hour Breakdown Assistance, 365 days a year, covering the island of Ireland. The numbers are detailed in your policy booklet or please contact us on 1890 221 123 for assistance. This is not available on our Lite cover options.

What if I am involved in an accident/claim?

What if I want to cancel my policy?
All cancellation instructions must be submitted to 123.ie in writing. If the insurance certificate and disc have been issued, these must also be returned before your policy can be cancelled. If you cancel your motor insurance policy during the first year of insurance, the Insurer's short period rates will apply for the time the policy has been in force. The short period rates are as follows:
1st month 80% 2nd month 70% 3rd month 60% 4th month 50% 5th month 40% 6th month 30% 7th month 20% 8th month 10% 9th month or later no refund Cooling-Off Period
You have the right to withdraw from your policy, within 14 days from the inception date of your policy or the date you receive your policy documents, whichever is later. To withdraw from a policy within the cooling off period, you need to send us a request in writing inclusive of your policy number and return (if received) your Certificate of Insurance and Disc. Should you exercise your right to withdraw, it will mean no policy was ever put in place and provided that you have not made a claim, we will refund you any premium paid in full. If you have used the policy and should you exercise your right to withdraw, provided that you have not made a claim, we will only charge you for time on cover. Please note that our set up fee is non refundable if you choose to withdraw from the policy within the cooling-off period. -
