Can I purchase cover if I live outside Ireland?
No, you and all other persons insured must be currently residing in the Republic of Ireland and must have lived in the Republic of Ireland for at least six of the last 12 months before you bought or renewed this insurance.

How do I get my Policy Document?
Your policy document will be sent to you by email as soon as your credit card details have been validated. A copy of the policy wording is available for you to view online by simply clicking here.

Who do I contact in the event of a query under my policy?

Do I have to carry a copy of my policy with me when travelling?
We recommend that you bring it with you every time you travel. It is a particularly important document as among other things it provides you with details on what to do in the event of a medical emergency. In addition, some foreign medical providers may wish to see documentation before they will agree to treat you.

Are there any exclusions or limitations to the policy?
Yes, exclusions and limitations apply to 123.ie Travel Insurance, for example, it does not cover pre-existing medical conditions and excludes comparatively high risk activities. For a complete listing of exclusions and limitations, please refer to the policy document.

Can I cancel my trip for any reason and get all my money back?
No. You may receive a reimbursement if you cancel for any reason outlined in your policy document. Covered reasons include, but are not limited to, such unforeseen emergencies as illness, injury or death of you, your travelling companion and/or a relative. The cover does not include cancellation due to business obligations, change of mind or your dislike of the travel time. Pre-existing medical conditions are not covered.

Yes, but it is important to note that you may not be covered for existing illnesses or conditions. Please read full details in the policy booklet.

What is meant by a Pre-Existing Condition?
"Pre-existing condition" refers to a medical condition or an illness or death related to a medical condition which You or any person who Your trip depends on (this would include a relative or a business associate) knew about before you bought this insurance. For further details, click here.

What if I change my mind after I purchase this Travel Insurance?
Please email us on travel@123.ie if you feel this policy is not suitable for your needs and you require a refund. This email should reach us no later than 14 days after you have purchased your insurance or you have received your policy documents, whichever is later, provided you have not commenced your trip.

Do I have to buy Travel Insurance at any specific time?
No, however to protect your own interests, it is recommended you should purchase cover at the same time you purchase your travel package. You can buy it at a later date but it will not cover events which have already occurred.

What age categories and benefits apply to children?
On all policies children receive the same benefits as adults, apart from the Permanent Total Disablement benefit, which does not apply. The death benefit is €7,000 for children under 16 years.

Must children be accompanied by their parents to qualify for cover?
No, but it is a requirement of the policy that they meet up with parents or relatives on reaching their non stop destination.

What is the maximum length under the Single Trip?
The maximum length under Single Trip is 365 days.

What is the maximum duration of a period of travel under the Annual Multi Trip cover?
The maximum duration of any one period of travel is 45 days; if your trip exceeds 45 days, your cover is invalidated from the 46th day of your trip. The period of travel must start and finish in the Republic of Ireland.

Is there a limit as to the number of trips I can make under the Annual Multi Trip cover?
No, as long as each period of travel does not exceed 45 days you can travel as often as you wish. If you go on a trip that exceeds 45 days, your cover is invalidated from the 46th day of your trip.

Will my Annual Multi Trip insurance policy renew automatically?
No. We will issue you with notification before your policy expires.

Does my policy cover me if I am travelling on business?
No, our policy only covers leisure travel.

Am I covered for holidays I take within Ireland?
Our Annual Multi-Trip Policy provides limited cover in the Republic of Ireland if you stay in pre-booked accommodation for at least one night away from where you usually live.

Can I purchase your insurance if I am moving abroad permanently?
Yes, but cover will cease when you arrive at your country of destination.

What service does FirstAssist Emergency Service offer?
FirstAssist Emergency Service operates a 24 hour emergency assistance service. They can liaise with doctors and hospitals, guarantee medical charges and emergency repatriation if medically necessary, and most importantly liaise with your relatives at home.

Who do I contact in the event of a medical emergency?
In the event of a medical emergency, you must contact FirstAssist Emergency Service within 48 hours. When you telephone FirstAssist, your call will be answered by an experienced assistance co-ordinator who will help You with Your problem. They must authorise payment of all in-patient hospital, clinic or nursing home expenses, emergency repatriation or curtailment expenses. Who do I contact in the event of a claim (other than medical emergencies) under my policy?
Any occurrence or loss which may give rise to a claim should be advised immediately to 123.ie Travel Claims Services, OSG Travel Claims, Merrion Hall, Strand Road, Dublin 4. Telephone 1890 200 123 or if calling from abroad +353 1 261 1540 or email: travel@osg.ie. The claims department is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm and claim forms can also be downloaded from www.osgtravelclaims.ie.

What excesses apply under the policy?
Most sections of your policy have an excess which means you must contribute a certain amount per claim. The excess is applied to each Insured Person and varies from section to section. Please read your policy document for the exact amount.

What is the single article limit applying to the Personal Baggage section?
The maximum payment for any one article, pair, set or valuables is €350.

I'm going Scuba Diving, am I covered?
Yes, this policy will cover you for Scuba Diving but there are provisions and limitations. Please ensure you read your policy document carefully.

Am I covered if I go skiing?
If you are purchasing a Single Trip Policy, you need to purchase our Single Trip with Wintersports policy to cover skiing. If you purchase our Silver or Gold Annual Multi Trip policy, you automatically have cover for up to 17 days skiing.

Do I have cover for Golf Clubs?
There is only a limited amount of cover for golf clubs on our Gold policy.

Are there any countries excluded under my insurance?
No.
