IT Systems Administrator

Role Overview

With experience in excellent service delivery, you will drive the IT service function in 123.ie. This is a significant role, offering a superb opportunity to work closely with all business functions. You will provide extraordinary customer service & technical excellence in line with the ITIL methodology. In the day to day operation, you will lead by example; tracking key metrics, and providing higher level support to frontline helpdesk staff. As part of a team you will handle incident and problem management and perform trend analysis to root out recurring issues.

 

Responsibilities:

  • You will build relationships between IT operations and the business, communicating and reporting on IT service delivery
  • Maintain and grow ITIL processes for all aspects of service management
  • You will maintain integrity of 24x7 technical architecture to principles of high availability, business continuity and capacity
  • You will provide second and third level systems support as required.
  • You will support our security controls analyst, undertaking & improving execution of security controls
  • Liaise with managed service partners and suppliers and optimize service delivery
  • Support budgetary management of IT operational expenditure

 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Over 3 years experience in Windows and Linux systems administration as part of a team within an ITIL aligned support function in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Proven excellence in service management: incident & problem management, ticket resolution
  • An eagerness to get involved and participate
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency operating to ISO27002 standards for security
  • ITIL Foundation certification or greater

.Net Application Developer

Role Overview

Based in Dublin and responsible for the development and support of .NET based policy administration system. You love working in agile teams where innovation and initiative are highly valued. We have a great development team and are always looking to find new and better ways to build great software.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code in line with our monthly release plan.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications to support dynamic business.
  • You will build technical specifications and development estimates using iterative development practices from Scrum.
  • You will play a major part in delivering scrum iterations on time and to quality.
  • From time to time provides level 3 production support on an as needed basis.

 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in computer science from a recognised University or Technical College followed by a minimum of 2 years professional development experience.
  • Experienced with C#, .NET (4.5 / 5) , WCF, Web Services using XML, SOAP & WSDL.
  • We are using TDD so experience in unit and acceptance test development along with continuous integration is important.
  • Really good database development skills and experience including logical design and SQL programming.
  • Knowledge in deployment automation and continuous delivery techniques.

Java Application Developer

Role Overview

123.ie is a rapidly expanding business with significant growth. Based in Dublin, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of Java based business applications. The successful applicant will have significant experience of the full software development lifecycle from specification to delivery and is now ready for an expanded senior role.  You will be joining an experienced, dedicated, and highly successful team building front and back end systems for one of Ireland’s leading online companies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high quality software that is fit for purpose and conforms to coding standards for performance and security.
  • Create technical specifications and development timelines/estimates as part of an iterative development cycle using the best practices from SCRUM
  • Delivers all development iterations on time and to high quality standards
  • Provide production support on an as needed basis on  request of the Operations manager

 

Your Profile:

  • A degree in computer science from a recognised University or Technical College
  • You will have a minimum of 3 years professional experience with at least the last 2 years in a lead role of consequence.
  • Strong functional and technical analysis skills with proven problem solving abilities
  • Skilled in in delivery of solutions utilising J2EE, Hibernate, RESTEasy (JAX-RS), Web Services using service frameworks such as Apache CXF/Axis 2 (JAX-WS).
  • Strong database development skills and experienced in logical design and SQL programming
  • Experience of a JavaScript MVC framework such as AngularJS, HTML, CSS, AJAX is desirable
  • Experience in good practices for unit test and integration test development, using frameworks such as JUnit/TestNG and CI tools such as Jenkins/Sonar.
  • Knowledge of Software Design Patterns and techniques for writing structured, maintainable code
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines
  • An enthusiasm for software development and emerging technologies
