123.ie Update - 02/04/20

Thanks for stopping by. We are all in this together, in a new operating world and here at 123.ie, we really are trying to make things better. So, we wanted to share a few things that will benefit you during this time.

If you are a frontline, volunteer or essential worker:
 

  • Prioritised claims support. Our claims department are ensuring Healthcare workers are prioritised.
     
  • Free enhanced personal belongings cover: (€2,000) for Home Insurance customers who are deemed essential workers if their belongings are lost, damaged, or stolen while they are working or commuting (€500 single article limit).
     
  • Cover for Volunteers. Private Motor insurance use is extended beyond normal personal use for any 123.ie Policyholder helping within their community for voluntary purposes, e.g. to transport medicines or groceries to those in need, or to take those that may be ill or vulnerable to hospital or testing facilities.
     
  • Free courtesy car provided to any essential workers with an 123.ie motor policy. If their car is involved in an accident, a courtesy car will be provided until the car is repaired.

 

If you are a new or existing Car Insurance customer:

 

  • You can still renew online.

  • You can renew for up to 28 days. We understand that you may have other things on your mind, so we are allowing 28 days (post renewal date) for you to renew your motor & household cover. This does not apply for 123GO or Travel products
     
  • We’re removing our direct debit default Fee’s. Our direct debit default fee’s will be waived until July to help those experiencing financial stress during this time. This means that there will be no financial penalties for late payments.
     
  • You can buy a new policy online. Get 10% off Motor and Home Insurance with when you buy online: Click Here
     
  • Providing documents. No requirement for customers to send us original documents at this time and will now accept a PDF or photo of required documents via email.
  • Medical or NCT tests. Customers unable to complete Medical or NCT tests will not be restricted from renewing their policies at this time. But we will ask for this in the future.
     
  • Cancelled policies will not incur any fees or charges. We will offer a pro-rata refund for the remainder of the term. Certain exceptions to this may apply e.g. where there is an ongoing claim.
     
  • Suspension of Car Insurance while not in use, is available.
     
  • Business use (class 1) will be the minimum class of use for all RSA Motor policies with immediate effect and until further notice. There will be no charge for this.
  • We are extending foreign travel cover up to 60 days if you’re unable to return to Ireland due to travel restrictions. (up from 30 days)
     
  • Flexibility in cancellation process for cancellations usually in writing with returned cert – now can be accepted by phone/email with cert returned at a later date.

  • You can still renew online.

  • If you are working from home, and you have your Home Insurance policy with us, we wanted to let you know that your company equipment, like your laptop, is covered for theft (up to €4,000).*

We’re still here. Trying for better.

We hope you and your family are doing well in these uncertain times. We’re making some changes for our people, and for you the customer so please read on.

We’ve changed our opening times for telephones agents, but we’re still online 24/7

As always, our people are our priority and while we’re abiding by the government guidelines on social distancing, we are also conscious we want our teams to spend more time out of the office, than in it. We have a large team working safely and securely from home. We are also changing our opening hours as follows:
