What's included in Home Legal Assist?

For Home Insurance Customers

Below is a list of insured incidents that are covered by the optional extra home legal assist. For each one we will cover the legal costs and negotiate your legal rights on your behalf if you require assistance in any of the following areas:

  • Contract disputes of over €150
  • Identity theft
  • Bodily injury
  • Clinical negligence
  • Employment disputes
  • Property protections
  • Tax protection
  • Jury service & court attendance
  • Legal defence

We will offer assistance to you, if you are looking to pursue a case against a third party.

This does not cover you if you are being prosecuted relating to your employment.

As well as the legal assistance above, the benefit includes access to four 24 hour helpline services.

1. Legal advice service

We offer access to confidential legal advice about any personal legal problem. The advice we provide will be in line with the laws of The Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. If you have any legal queries, you would like to discuss you can call us on 0818 303 011.

2. Identity theft

Once you are resident in the Republic of Ireland we will provide details, assistance and guidance in relation to concerns about identity theft. If required you can also avail of our legal assistance for help to negotiate your legal rights in reinstating your personal identity and credit rating. If you have any fears about identity theft you can call us on 1890 252 922.

3. Health and medical information

We will be able to give you information over the phone about general health issues and non-diagnostic medical matters. If you have any questions such as allergy advice or possible side-effects of drugs, you can call us on 1890 254 164.

4. Counselling

We are able to provide a confidential counselling service over the phone and if need we can refer you to relevant voluntary or professional services. If you would like to talk to us please call 1850 670 407.
