Here at 123.ie we’re always trying for better, that’s why we’re delighted to announce we’ve added extra benefits to ensure your electric vehicle is fully covered on your road to a greener environment.

Electric vehicles, also known as EVs, are becoming increasingly popular due to their environmentally friendly nature and efficiency. If you have an electric car or a plug in hybrid, we've added more standard benefits with increased levels of cover for roadside assistance, chargers and cables at no additional cost. Now that's better!

Here are some benefits covered within our car insurance policies:

Wall Charger
Cover for your wall charger If your car is an electric vehicle (EV) or a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) model we will pay up to €500 for loss or damage as a result of fire, theft, or attempted theft. Accidental damage cover where policy cover is Comprehensive. A claim will not affect your no claims discount. 

Charging Cable
We will cover loss or damage to EV charging cables as a result of fire, theft, or attempted theft. We will pay up to €300. Accidental damage covered where policy cover is Comprehensive. A claim will not affect your no claims discount.

Roadside Assistance 
Additional cover for electric vehicles (EV):  Energy failure; means any failure of the battery because there is insufficient charge to operate the vehicle
Where available our Roadside Assistance Provider will charge your vehicle at the side of the road, transport your vehicle to a charging point or to your home, whichever is closer.

Temporary Replacement Vehicle
In the event of an accident, we will endeavour to provide an EV or hybrid, but this is subject to availability.
