Policy Benefits: Key Care

What is Key Care?

There is nothing worse than losing your car keys - that's a fact. It's inconvenient, time-consuming and often very costly. With Key Care, we aim to take that stress and worry away. Key Care is policy benefit that comes as standard on all Comprehensive Car Insurance policies, covering your keys for up to €1,500. This means your keys are covered in the event of theft or loss with no implications on your No Claims Bonus.

How does it work?

When you purchase your Comprehensive Car Insurance policy, we will send you a 123.ie fob to attach to your keys. This fob must be attached at all times to ensure Key Care cover is in place. Once your fob is connected - you're covered!

What does Key Care include?

There are lots of great benefits included with Key Care, such as covering the cost of replacing all keys attached the fob, helpline assistance and locksmith service 24/7, 365 days a day, unlimited claims up to €1,500 with no affect to your no claims bonus and €10 reward for anyone who finds your keys. This €1,500 covers locksmith cost, new locks, replacement keys and reprogramming. Plus, you're fully covered all across the EU and UK.

What should I do if my key is lost or stolen?

In the unfortunate event of your key being lost or stolen, you can contact us immediately on our emergency helpline +35315181412.

How can I look after my keys?

There are lots of ways you can look after your keys, but most importantly - make sure you attach your Key Care fob. Other than that, you should:

  • Replace the battery every two years in all electric keys,
  • Use a Faraday pouch for keyless car fobs to prevent signal interference and prevent theft,
  • Use multiple rings to store your keys,
  • Leave your keys out of sight of windows when at home,
  • Finally (and probably most obvious!): you shouldn't leave your keys in your vehicle unattended, ever!
