Before you Insure

Do I have to declare if I live near water?

For Home Insurance Customers

Yes, you will be asked when taking out a new policy if your home is within 100 metres of any lake, river, stream, canal, sea, or any other body of water.

You will also be asked if your home has ever suffered damage through flood, or if there is a history of such damage in the area.

Failure to disclose all material facts may result in your policy being void or a claim not being paid.

For online quotes these questions may form part of the assumptions which you must accept before proceeding with the policy.
