Can I change my policy to direct debit?

If you have paid for your policy in full, you may be able to change your payment method to direct debit.

In order to do this, you will need to call our Customer Care Team on 01 524 6029 with your bank account details. We will set up a monthly direct debit and refund you less the deposit amount.

For Car Insurance Customers

The deposit amount is made up of:

  • The non-refundable set up fee
  • 21.5% of the premium
  • A Service Charge of 9.5% of the direct debit amount

The above figures make up the minimum deposit that we charge. You have the option to pay a larger deposit. You can discuss this option with our Customer Care Team. 

If you choose to pay by direct debit, the total cost of your policy will be higher.

For Home Insurance Customers

The deposit amount is made up of:

  • The non-refundable set up fee
  • 1.5% of the premium
  • A Service Charge of 9.5% of the direct debit amount

The above figures make up the minimum deposit that we charge. You have the option to pay a larger deposit. You can discuss this option with our Customer Care Team. 

If you choose to pay by direct debit, the total cost of your policy will be higher.

For Pet Insurance Customers
There is no option to pay by direct debit once your policy has been set up in full by credit/debit card.
