How do I cancel my policy?

For Car Insurance Customers

If you have taken out a Car Insurance policy and are choosing not to proceed with it, you can cancel your policy over the phone by contacting our Customer Care team on 01-524 6029.

  • If you are inside your 14 day cooling off period, we will just charge you for each day of cover you had. If you have not used any of the cover, you will receive a full refund.
  • If you are outside your 14 day cooling off period, there will be a 40 Euro cancellation fee and we will charge you for each day of cover you have used.
  • If you have paid by Direct Debut, the service charge will be retained once we have applied for your first installment.

Once the policy has been cancelled, we will send you a letter confirming cancellation and a No Claims Bonus is applicable.

For Home Insurance Customers

If you have taken out a Home Insurance policy and are choosing not to proceed with it, you can cancel your policy over the phone by contacting our Customer Care team on 01-524 6029.

If there is a second proposer on your policy, we will need to confirm the request with both of you. 

  • If you are inside your 14 day cooling off period, we will just charge you for each day of cover you had. If you have not used any of the cover, you will receive a full refund.
  • If you are outside your 14 day cooling off period, there will be a 25 Euro cancellation fee and we will charge you for each day of cover you have used.
  • If you have paid by Direct Debut, the service charge will be retained once we have applied for your first installment.

Once the policy has been cancelled, you will receive confirmation from us either by email or post.

For Travel Insurance Customers

To cancel your Travel Insurance policy, you will need to contact our Travel team to confirm when you want the policy to be cancelled from. If you are sending your request in writing, it can be posted or emailed to us.

If emailing this, please remember it must come from the email address noted on your policy and be registered in the name of the policyholder.

You can cancel your policy with your 14 day cooling off period once you have not traveled or made a claim on the policy. If you are outside your 14 day cooling off period, the policy is non-refundable.
